Lawn Restoration Plans

We offer customized lawn restoration plans to help cultivate your lawn into a beautiful outdoor space. Although each lawn has different needs, our restoration plans normally involve some combination of these services:

  • Dethatching – Dethatching your lawn helps to remove built-up layers of dead grass, roots, and debris, allowing better airflow, water penetration, and nutrient absorption in the soil. Additionally, dethatching allows new grass seed to come in contact with the soil. We typically do this in the Spring when the grass is growing rapidly.
  • Seasonal aeration – Lawn aeration helps to relieve soil compaction, improve air circulation, and enhance the overall health of the grass roots. Annual aeration is one of the best practices for cultivating a healthy lawn. Denver Water recommends aeration 1-2 times per year in the Spring and Fall.
  • Overseeding – Overseeding your lawn in the Spring and/or Fall helps to fill in bare patches, improve lawn density, and enhance the overall appearance and health of the grass. Healthy, thick grass is the best protection against unwanted weeds.
  • Weed prevention and control – If your lawn isn’t yet healthy, applying a herbicide and/or weed prevention products helps to kill existing weeds and prevent new weeds from sprouting and spreading. Our most used weed control product is Tenacity.
  • Fertilizer – Fertilizer is used to provide essential nutrients for vigorous growth and development. Overseeding often involves introducing new grass seeds to existing turf, which can increase competition for nutrients. Fertilizer helps ensure that both the existing and newly seeded grass receive adequate nutrition to establish a thick, healthy lawn. It promotes root growth, improves color, and enhances overall turf density, leading to a more resilient and attractive lawn.
  • Regular Watering – Simply stated, healthy lawns require regular watering. Many cities in the Denver metro area have strict watering regulations during the Summer months. We can help you create a watering plan that works for you.
